Is anyone here able to tell me which year the following 45 was released?

Buster Browns - "Lovin Train" (a great hard rock 45, I'm guessing 1969 or 1970)

Label is Golden Voice (same as Beggers Opera), and catalogue number is 834G-5780.

Thanks.

The dozen or so Golden Voice 45s I have are either RCA custom pressings, or Wakefield pressings. Wakefields have an SJW-xxxx code scribed very faint in the deadwax area, SJW changed to a tulip like symbol sometime in mid to late 1968.
RCA matrix numbers, as always, consist of two sets of codes, the account number-master number pairing, followed by the date code and individual master number in sequence specific to that release.
We would need to obtain either code off the Buster Browns 45 to arrive at a release date.

Thanks Mike,
unfortunately I don't own the 45, so I guess this'll remain a mystery for now...

Here's a label shot:

And here's the MP3:

W4KM - Jan-June of 1968. I'd have to delve into the lot numbers (5780/1) to see where in the year this falls. Those numbers are not necessarily alloted in sequential order.
If the 4 (or 3 or 5) was placed as the 3rd, or 1st digit - 1st meaning they ran out of file numbers alloted for the year so they had to "reuse" older ones, it means the disc was mastered and pressed from July-Dec of the noted year.

My source tells me 1970 - does that seem right?
Indiana band apparently.

Yes, Z was the corresponding letter for 1970. The next year it jumped to A.

P = 1963
R = 1964
S = 1965
T = 1966
U = 1967
W = 1968
X = 1969
Z = 1970
